This is what it looks like when Emmy and I go for our morning stroll these days, a little after 6am. Which is sort of pretty, maybe, but it’s a little depressing to realize it’s not going to be substantially brighter than this until next March, give or take…
Most of February should be at least this bright. That’s because Daylight Savings Time makes sunrise an hour later than it otherwise would be.
According to Weather Underground, sunrise at my location was at 0656 EDT today. Sunrise times the week of the winter solstice are typically between 0710 and 0715 EST. I’m a few degrees of longitude east of you, so the times in Niskayuna are probably 15-20 minutes later than here.
