SteelyKid goes to day care at the Jewish Community Center, which is closed today and tomorrow for Rosh Hashanah. Here we see her calling all her friends on the phone in her play house to wish them a happy new year, and let Appa offer his own greetings:

The two-day closing is, as you might imagine, kind of inconvenient for us But it’s all good, because SteelyKid is going to celebrate the holiday with a few days at Grandma and Grandpa camp, so here’s a special Toddler Blogging shot, with bonus grandparents for scale:

(Both of these were taken with my spiffy new telephoto lens, the Canon 55-200mm one I asked about a while ago. This was overkill, given that I had to back up to get everybody in the frame, but it was new and shiny and I was playing around testing it out, so what the hell.)

They picked her up this morning, and headed out after an early lunch at what SteelyKid ate an impressive amount of mac and cheese. I hope this didn’t lead to another Barfy Toddler Incident on I-88…

While we’ll miss her terribly, Kate and I are looking forward to a few leisurely dinners in sit-down restaurants. Pity there aren’t any good movies playing.
