Random Ten

My iPod apparently decided that I needed some slightly trippy stuff to go with the Flexeril and Darvocet I’ve been taking for my shoulder:

  1. “Fight Test,” the Flaming Lips
  2. “Late in the Evening,” Paul Simon
  3. “Just Like Honey,” the Jesus & Mary Chain
  4. “Sunshine/ Nowhere to Run,” Ride
  5. “See a Little Light,” Bob Mould
  6. “Whole of the Moon,” the Waterboys
  7. “Woo Hoo,” the 5,6,7,8’s
  8. “One Great City!” the Weakerthans
  9. “Psalm for the Elks Lodge Last Call,” the Weakerthans
  10. “Do You Realize?” the Flaming Lips

Of course, the next track was “Jesus of Suburbia” by Green Day, which was a bit of a mood change…

  1. I have too. One Great City! is quintessential Winnipegger self-loathing/wistful appreciation.

  2. Heh. I saw this in my RSS reader and came by to make the same comment RPM did. A Canadian friend of mine introduced me to them some time back, and their three albums are the only thing I listened to for about a month. 🙂

  3. “A darker gray is breaking through a lighter one”

Just a great, great song with an amazing sense of place.
