As you can guess from the title, I’ve done this twice before when I had stuff to do that precluded quality blogging. Kate’s in Rochester for a court appearance, leaving me home with SteelyKid, so this seems like a perfect occasion for a third go-round.
The pairs of words in the following list are consecutive words from pop songs that I think might be identifiable given just those two words. The songs range from kind of obvious to impossibly obscure. If you think you know the answer, post a comment completing the line, and then suggest your own two-word phrase from a different song for other people to try to guess.
First of all, here are five from the second quiz that never got guessed. I’ve added two additional words from the same song (not consecutive with the first pair) as an aid to guessing:
- A) “wearing tulle” and “beauty’s just”
- B) “spare bulb” and “hydro field”
- C) “platinum chain” and “transactional analysis”
- D) “Fidel Castro” and “Blackie and”
- E) “ain’t amoebas” and “no porcupine”
And now, a whole new set:
- patchouli oil
- rock-n-roll clown
- Easter Mass
- counting loonies
- loonies off
- chemical sky
- asbestos sky
- silver spaceships
- deconstruct me
- rap metal
- Jesus rides
- glowing bronze
- Italian mobster
- underwire bra
- late-night promises
- seventeen eyes
- bosom for
- Einstein disguised
- soap impression
- free milk
- fifty-pound notes
Once again, to guess a song, complete the line containing those words, and suggest two more from a different song. Hopefully, this can provide some continuing amusement while I’m scrambling around at work.
