Lacking time, though, I&#8217;ll just give you this image of Condescending <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Louis_de_Broglie\">Louis de Broglie<\/a>, an idea that sprang to mind when I ran across the <a href=\"http:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:Broglie_Big.jpg\">original image<\/a> and wouldn&#8217;t go away. This is, obviously, an analogy to the <a href=\"http:\/\/knowyourmeme.com\/memes\/condescending-wonka-creepy-wonka\">condescending Wonka meme<\/a>, and derives primarily from the faintly amused look on de Broglie&#8217;s face in this obviously posed publicity photo from sometime in the 1930&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8596\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8596\" style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/files\/2013\/09\/condescending_debroglie.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/files\/2013\/09\/condescending_debroglie.jpg\" alt=\"A theory of everything? How fascinating. Do go on&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The text is mine, but I&#8217;m sure somebody else can do better. So have at it.
