{"id":690,"date":"2006-10-09T08:59:45","date_gmt":"2006-10-09T08:59:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/2006\/10\/09\/sat-challenge-update\/"},"modified":"2006-10-09T08:59:45","modified_gmt":"2006-10-09T08:59:45","slug":"sat-challenge-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/chadorzel.com\/principles\/2006\/10\/09\/sat-challenge-update\/","title":{"rendered":"SAT Challenge Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/challenge\">Blogger SAT Challenge<\/a> made the front page of Slashdot last week, making a huge spike in the traffic here, and bringin this blog to the attention to this blog&#8211; I&#8217;ve had a half-dozen emails and comments from students and colleagues who hadn&#8217;t seen the blog before.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, after a <a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/blogs\/sat_challenge\/\">blitz of posts<\/a> associated with the unveiling of the Challenge, I pretty much reverted to being the King of the Physical Science Channel, and didn&#8217;t post anything more about it. Dave Munger has kept talking about it, though, and has posted a lot of interesting material, including <a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/cognitivedaily\/2006\/10\/the_sat_challenge_my_essay_rev.php\">comments on his own essay<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/cognitivedaily\/2006\/10\/returning_to_my_roots_a_litera.php\">an analysis of the essays themselves<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/cognitivedaily\/2006\/10\/are_bloggers_better_writers_or.php\">a look at the correlation between the Technorati rank and Challenge grade<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not terribly impressed with the graphs in the last post, but that&#8217;s my physics training talking&#8211; for social-science data, they&#8217;re probably not that bad.
