{"id":6110,"date":"2012-03-27T09:53:59","date_gmt":"2012-03-27T09:53:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/2012\/03\/27\/the-story-of-the-three-giant-h\/"},"modified":"2012-03-27T09:53:59","modified_gmt":"2012-03-27T09:53:59","slug":"the-story-of-the-three-giant-h","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/chadorzel.com\/principles\/2012\/03\/27\/the-story-of-the-three-giant-h\/","title":{"rendered":"The Story of the Three Giant Hippopotamuses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Once upon a time, there were three giant hippopotamuses&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><i>No, Daddy, it was three little pigs.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>This is a completely different story, honey.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Once upon a time, there were three giant hippopotamuses, who lived together in a river in Africa.<\/p>\n<p><i>They lived in a house.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Well, hippos spend most of their time in the water, so they really lived in the river.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/File:Hippo_pod_edit.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/467\/files\/2012\/04\/i-05945971558f4b71d22026287bc0cf6e-Hippo_pod_edit.jpg\" alt=\"i-05945971558f4b71d22026287bc0cf6e-Hippo_pod_edit.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><i>But they had a house on the bank of the river, which was very nice.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>OK.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>And one day, something happened, which was&#8230;?<\/p>\n<p><i>A big bad wolf came to their house!<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>No, honey, hippos live in Africa. They don&#8217;t have big bad wolves in Africa.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Oh. Ummm&#8230; A great big giraffe came and drank up all the water in their river!<\/i><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>And one day, a great big giraffe came and drank up all the water in their river. This made the hippos very sad. So, they&#8230;?<\/p>\n<p><i>Hit the giraffe and shook the giraffe and said &#8220;Give our water back!&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Ummm&#8230; OK.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>So the first hippopotamus tried to hit the giraffe for taking their water. But giraffes are really tall, and hippos are short, so he couldn&#8217;t reach the giraffe.<\/p>\n<p>The second hippopotamus grabbed the giraffe and tried to shake him. But giraffes have really long necks, and the giraffe grabbed hold of a tree, so he couldn&#8217;t shake the giraffe very well.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the <em>third<\/em> hippo, she was very smart and very nice, so she&#8230;?<\/p>\n<p><i>Um&#8230; She gave the giraffe some grass?<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Well, giraffes eat leaves, but that&#8217;s a good idea.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Now, the <em>third<\/em> hippo, she was very smart and very nice, so she gathered up some yummy leaves and gave them to the giraffe, and said &#8220;Please won&#8217;t you give us our water back?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And the giraffe did, so the hippos got their river back.<\/p>\n<p><i>But that water would be all yucky. Because it was in the giraffe&#8217;s throat.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Oh, yeah, right.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>And the giraffe said, &#8220;Well, I already drank that water.&#8221; But he was a wealthy giraffe, so he went to the store, and bought them some nice clean water for their river.<\/p>\n<p><i>Right. The giraffe only drank their water &#8217;cause he was thirsty. But once he knew it made them sad, he went and got some new water, from the sea. Because he was really a nice giraffe. And then everybody was happy.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Ummm&#8230; right. Exactly that.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>And then everybody was happy. The end.<\/p>\n<p><i>The end.
