{"id":6090,"date":"2012-03-17T09:29:00","date_gmt":"2012-03-17T09:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/2012\/03\/17\/dog-physics-on-the-radio\/"},"modified":"2012-03-17T09:29:00","modified_gmt":"2012-03-17T09:29:00","slug":"dog-physics-on-the-radio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/chadorzel.com\/principles\/2012\/03\/17\/dog-physics-on-the-radio\/","title":{"rendered":"Dog Physics on the Radio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/467\/files\/2012\/04\/i-f71a4ed1b30ba721a274013a218ef0ce-sidebar_relativity_cover.jpg\" alt=\"i-f71a4ed1b30ba721a274013a218ef0ce-sidebar_relativity_cover.jpg\" \/>I&#8217;ve done a bunch of publicity stuff for <a href=\"http:\/\/dogphysics.com\/relativity_info.html\"><cite>How to Teach Relativity to Your Dog<\/cite><\/a>, some of which frustratingly continue to not appear yet, but one thing from this week has gone live: a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mattklewis.com\/?p=6287\">podcast interview on the Matt Lewis Show<\/a>, where I talk about why and how I explain physics to the dog, and a little bit about why relativity is cool.<\/p>\n<p>I continue to struggle a bit with the fact that relativity is a very visual subject&#8211; most of the best explanations involve pictures, which aren&#8217;t much help in an audio-only medium. I had trouble with this at Boskone, too&#8211; when I was doing a reading, it was hard to find a section to read that didn&#8217;t involve a lot of diagrams. And I still tend to go on a little too long in my descriptions.
