Unfortunately, the middle one included a good deal of ice, so we now have a thick layer of snow, covered by a half-inch of ice, with another several inches of snow on top of that. Which makes getting around quite the chore.<\/p>\n<p>However, if you break out big pieces of the ice layer, you can stick them back into the ice so they stand upright, like the bony plates on the back of a <i>stegosaurus<\/i>. which is pretty neat:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/467\/files\/2012\/04\/i-09ee06f133e63321f679b7c6a11df5b9-sm_snow_point.jpg\" alt=\"i-09ee06f133e63321f679b7c6a11df5b9-sm_snow_point.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Of course, the real highlight of going out to play in the snow is coming back inside where it&#8217;s warm, then running around in your snow pants:<\/p\n\n\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/467\/files\/2012\/04\/i-f9ed3f582eb939c61c9f92a9a472471e-sm_snow_pants_run.jpg\" alt=\"i-f9ed3f582eb939c61c9f92a9a472471e-sm_snow_pants_run.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s funny because they make noise when you run.
