National Grid says probably Tuesday, but they really don&#8217;t know when they&#8217;ll get our electricity back.<\/p>\n<p>This is, of course, deeply annoying, but it feels sort of churlish to complain too much, given how much worse it could be. After all, the only physical damage thus far has been the destruction of our back yard gate by a falling limb. That&#8217;s not even worth a homeowner&#8217;s insurance claim.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re also luck to be in a position where we can afford to relocate to a hotel. The cost of the room is irritating, but not debilitating&#8211; it&#8217;s not a completely trivial amount of money, but it&#8217;s not putting us in any real jeopardy. Meanwhile, almost 300 people spent last night in Red Cross shelters. And <a href=\"http:\/\/timesunion.com\/AspStories\/story.asp?storyID=750269\">two people died<\/a> from carbon monoxide poisoning.<\/p>\n<p>So, it could be a whole lot worse, and in fact it <strong>is<\/strong> a whole lot worse for a lot of other people in our area.
