I might be wrong about the &#8220;red-tailed hawk&#8221; part, but it&#8217;s definitely a bird of prey that killed a rabbit next door. Emmy is incredibly jealous.<\/p>\n<p>I got a bunch of pictures, most of them blurred because the light was low, but there&#8217;s also this good &#8220;Whaddaya think you&#8217;re lookin&#8217; at?&#8221; shot:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/467\/files\/2012\/04\/i-3c467a9a4725abfbabdc0f3e3a8d32c3-sm_hawk1.jpg\" alt=\"i-3c467a9a4725abfbabdc0f3e3a8d32c3-sm_hawk1.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was remarkably calm, and just sat there posing for several minutes, until the neighbor&#8217;s oldest son came out and threw basketballs at it until it flew away.
