In particular, when I change the “Windows Update” setting to something other than “Install updates and automatically restart any damn fool time you please,” that means that I do not want you to install updates and restart unless I specifically tell you to do so<\/strong>. I don’t care how “critical” the updates are, I don’t care how many days it’s been since the last time I updated– I’m the one who decides when you install and restart.<\/p>\n To put it bluntly, when I change a setting, it should goddamn well stay changed<\/strong>. And don’t try to pretend that I didn’t<\/strong> change the Update settings– I know I did, after the last time you randomly shut down five programs that had data windows open for some “critical” update.<\/p>\n If this arbitrary re-setting of settings continues, I will introduce you to the great big magnet we keep in the Physics department for just such occasions.
