If you haven&#8217;t voted yet, go over there and pick a paper.<\/p>\n<p><P>Locally, I&#8217;m still collecting nominees for the <A HREF=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/2006\/01\/greatest_experiment_ever.php\">Greatest Physics Experiment<\/A>. A quick scan through the comments gives the current list as:<br \/>\n<UL><br \/>\n<LI>The Michelson-Morley experiment disproving the aether.<br \/>\n<LI>Rutherford&#8217;s discovery of the nucleus.<br \/>\n<LI>Aspect&#8217;s Bell Inequality test.<br \/>\n<LI>Galileo&#8217;s inclined planes, or possibly the discovery of the moons of Jupiter.<br \/>\n<LI>The Mossbauer Effect.<br \/>\n<\/UL><\/p>\n<p><P>If you have a favorite physics experiment, and don&#8217;t see it on that list, go leave a comment nominating it.
