{"id":184,"date":"2006-04-12T07:00:31","date_gmt":"2006-04-12T07:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/2006\/04\/12\/csi-durham-followup\/"},"modified":"2006-04-12T07:00:31","modified_gmt":"2006-04-12T07:00:31","slug":"csi-durham-followup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/chadorzel.com\/principles\/2006\/04\/12\/csi-durham-followup\/","title":{"rendered":"CSI: Durham Follow-Up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Having <a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/2006\/04\/csi_durham.php\">previously mentioned the Duke lacrosse mess<\/a>, I feel obliged to at least note the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsobserver.com\/1185\/story\/427860.html\">latest events<\/a>: DNA tests failed to link any of the players to the crime, but the DA says the alleged victim has identified one of them. <\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t plan to make this a regularly recurring feature, because the whole thing is sort of squalid and depressing. If, however, you find that you just can&#8217;t get enough, you can find lots of coverage elsewhere. There&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.lordsutch.com\/?tag=lacrosse\">fairly comprehensive and mildly pro-Duke<\/a> blog (via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davesez.com\/archives\/001065.php\">Dave<\/a>), and of course there&#8217;s the strongly anti-Duke coverage at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amptoons.com\/blog\/archives\/category\/feminism-sexism-etc\/rape-intimate-violence-related-issues\/duke-rape-case\/\">Alas, A Blog<\/a>. (Though I have serious philosophical issues with their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amptoons.com\/blog\/archives\/2005\/12\/22\/moderation-faq-and-policy\/\">new moderation policy<\/a>, and probably won&#8217;t link there again.)<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll probably comment on any really significant future developments in the case, but until then, I have enough squalid and depressing things to deal with around here.
