{"id":1835,"date":"2007-10-14T09:59:23","date_gmt":"2007-10-14T09:59:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/2007\/10\/14\/newish-blog-small-world\/"},"modified":"2007-10-14T09:59:23","modified_gmt":"2007-10-14T09:59:23","slug":"newish-blog-small-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/chadorzel.com\/principles\/2007\/10\/14\/newish-blog-small-world\/","title":{"rendered":"New-ish Blog, Small World"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m cleaning out some old saved items from my RSS feeds, to prepare for some changes at ScienceBlogs, and one of the items I had marked but never done anything with was an announcement of the launch of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbs.org\/kcet\/wiredscience\/blogs\/\">Correlations<\/a>, a group blog from Wired Science and PBS. It suffers a bit from the Wired aesthetic of posterizing photographs so as to make them unrecognizable, but at least it&#8217;s black text on a white background, so PBS has had some moderating influence.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ve got a good collection of science bloggers, including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbs.org\/kcet\/wiredscience\/blogs\/cjohnson.html\">Clifford Johnson<\/a> of <a href=\"http:\/\/asymptotia.com\/\">Asymptotia<\/a> and ScienceBlogs&#8217; own <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbs.org\/kcet\/wiredscience\/blogs\/tsmith.html\">Tara Smith<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbs.org\/kcet\/wiredscience\/blogs\/skirshenbaum.html\">Sheril Kirshenbaum<\/a>. There are also some production people from the tv show &#8220;Wired Science,&#8221; including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbs.org\/kcet\/wiredscience\/blogs\/dgambuto.html\">Damon Gambuto<\/a>, a writer for the show.<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t be sure, because of the posterizing thing mentioned above, but I think I played rugby with him in college. The picture sort of looks like him (at least, it&#8217;s a guy of about the right age), but there aren&#8217;t many biographical details available. There can&#8217;t be a lot of people out there with that combination of names, though, so I think it&#8217;s the same guy.
