Like many professional society meeting, this has led to a giant blort of press releases on EurekAlert, as the PR office for the conference tries to drum up some attention.<\/p>\n<p>The press releases in question came across my RSS feeds this morning, and they&#8217;re notable for the &#8220;Well, <strong>DUH<\/strong>!&#8221; quality of the headlines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurekalert.org\/pub_releases\/2007-06\/aaos-csw053007.php\">College students who pull &#8216;all-nighters&#8217; and get no sleep more likely to have a lower GPA<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurekalert.org\/pub_releases\/2007-06\/aaos-swm053007.php\">Students with medical-related majors more likely to have poor quality sleep<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurekalert.org\/pub_releases\/2007-06\/aaos-edw053007.php\">Extended duration work shifts risky to the safety, well-being of medical interns, patients<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurekalert.org\/pub_releases\/2007-06\/aaos-gtb053007.php\">Going to bed late may affect the health, academic performance of college students<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I am shocked&#8211; shocked!&#8211; at these results.
