It being a Dukie publication, he goes on rather too long about the greatness of Mike Krzyzewski, but the opening point about how even the best coaches in the business can&#8217;t avoid off years is excellent.<\/p>\n<p>Lest it be said that I&#8217;m going soft on Duke, though, let me also link to Dave&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davesez.com\/archives\/001273.php\">most-hated Dukies<\/a> post, with a bonus list of hated Tar Heels. Because nothing&#8217;s as much fun as ragging on hateable players from teams you don&#8217;t like.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>For the record, my most-hated Duke players, in no particular order:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shane Battier<\/li>\n<li>Chris Collins<\/li>\n<li>Christian Laettner<\/li>\n<li>Jason Williams<\/li>\n<li>JJ Redick<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most of these guys make the list through overhype, more than anything else. For example, by the end of his career, I was thoroughly sick of hearing about what a great player Battier was from Dick Vitale, usually during games involving <strong>two other teams<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>My most hated Tar Heels:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rasheed Wallace<\/li>\n<li>Rasheed Wallace<\/li>\n<li>Rasheed Wallace<\/li>\n<li>Rasheed Wallace<\/li>\n<li>Rasheed Wallace<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Oh, all right,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rasheed Wallace<\/li>\n<li>J.R. Reid<\/li>\n<li>Makhtar Ndiaye<\/li>\n<li>Shammond Williams<\/li>\n<li>King Rice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>King Rice makes the list mostly because he was from Binghamton, near where I grew up, and he was kind of a prick.
