{"id":10406,"date":"2015-12-04T08:22:15","date_gmt":"2015-12-04T13:22:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/?p=10406"},"modified":"2015-12-04T08:22:15","modified_gmt":"2015-12-04T13:22:15","slug":"094366-tedxalbany-stage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/chadorzel.com\/principles\/2015\/12\/04\/094366-tedxalbany-stage\/","title":{"rendered":"094\/366: TEDxAlbany Stage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For obvious reasons, I don&#8217;t have a photo of myself speaking at TEDxAlbany, but since that was my only real activity on Thursday, I need something to document it, so here&#8217;s the stage before the show got started:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10407\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10407\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/files\/2015\/12\/sm_TEDx.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/principles\/files\/2015\/12\/sm_TEDx.jpg\" alt=\"The stage for TEDxAlbany.\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10407\" srcset=\"http:\/\/chadorzel.com\/principles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/sm_TEDx.jpg 600w, http:\/\/chadorzel.com\/principles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/sm_TEDx-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10407\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The stage for TEDxAlbany.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>You can see the stage and the podium a bit, but I went with this shot because it includes the funky space room in the background. The event was held at <a href=\"http:\/\/overit.com\/\">Overit<\/a> in Albany, where they do some shooting of commercials and so on. The big white thing in the back of this shot is a kind of curved half-box that&#8217;s used for a sort of green-screen kind of effect&#8211; properly lit, a person in front of this looks like there&#8217;s a featureless white void behind them, which works well when adding titles and graphics.<\/p>\n<p>I know this because I passed some of the time before my talk chatting about it with one of the studio folks there, whose name I completely forgot&#8211; looking at their web site, probably Adam.
